First U.S. Loveparade Planned for October
World's largest electronic music parade comes to San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO — The world's largest electronic music festival and parade is coming to San Francisco on October 2, 2004. First held in Berlin in 1989, Loveparade San Francisco is expected to draw thousands of revelers to the Bay Area for a celebration of electronic music with a mission of fostering tolerance, respect and understanding between nations.
San Francisco has long been a desired location for huge, outdoor, eclectic events, including the worlds' largest Gay pride celebration and the famous Castro Halloween and Folsom Street Fair parties. Loveparade promises to be an event of the same caliber, drawing a colorful and diverse audience while increasing the existing tourist draw to the city.
This is the first time Loveparade has been held in the United States; similar events are regularly held in other cities around the globe, including Mexico City, Cape Town, and Tel Aviv.

Be Prepared for San Francisco
October is one of our warmest months - San Francisco's summer is in the fall. But the weather can be unpredictable so it's good to bring layers and warm clothing.
Bring sunscreen and drink lots of water.
RECYCLE ..RECYCLE ..RECYCLE!! We urge you to keep our beautiful city CLEAN and help keep our landfills as clear as possible. Many trash cans have recycling cages (for plastics, aluminum, and glass). Be sure to find these cans and use them!
And Don't Forget...
Alcohol is for sale to those 21 or over in designated beer gardens with proper ID only. Alcohol distributed to minors will be confiscated and will be grounds for eviction from the post-parade festival site.
Unauthorized vending is not permitted.
Protect your valuables. Love Parade SF is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
No nitrous tanks, fires, fireworks, open flame BBQs, or weapons.
